Why does the Global South want the SBTi to be more lenient with corporate carbon credit usage?

Hundreds of organisations in the Global South have called on the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to use “common sense” and widen the usage of corporate carbon credits in order to meet net-zero goals.
