Anew Climate has entered into a four-year strategic partnership with InSoil, a European regenerative agriculture firm, to exclusively market more than 500,000 verified soil carbon removal credits generated in Lithuania, according to a joint statement on Wednesday.
The credits, developed under Verra’s VCS VM0042 standard, originate from nearly 49,000 acres (20,000 hectares) of farmland participating in InSoil’s Carbon Farming Program.
Farmers in the program apply regenerative practices such as cover cropping, crop rotation diversification, conservation tillage, and residue management.
These methods have helped sequester an average of 2.27 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) per hectare annually, according to independent verification by SCS Global.
The first deliveries of issued credits are expected by late 2025 or early 2026. A portion of the volume is already committed, unlocking near-term finance for participating farmers.

“Expanding our portfolio with high-quality European soil carbon credits underscores Anew’s commitment to climate solutions that deliver more than just carbon sequestration,” Roger Williams, Executive Vice President at Anew Climate, said in a comment.
InSoil’s model emphasizes both scientific rigor and local engagement. The program maintains one of the highest soil sampling densities in the sector, with 16 samples per 100 hectares, to ensure data reliability.
Most of the credits from the project are classified as durable carbon removals, reflecting long-term carbon sequestration potential.
Participating farmers benefit not only from climate finance, but also from improved soil health, water retention, biodiversity, and crop yields.
“Soil, second only to oceans in its carbon-storing power, makes Europe’s farmers… the cornerstone of the continent’s Net Zero goals,” Fernando Hierro Garcia, Head of Carbon at InSoil, stated.
InSoil plans to scale its operations in Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland and Ukraine.
