PARK CITY, Utah — Upward Personal Finance has been named one of Utah’s 100 Companies Championing Women, a statewide initiative recognizing businesses that advance gender equity in the workplace.

The honor, announced Sept. 30, comes from the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity and the Utah Women & Leadership Project at Utah State University. Companies are chosen for efforts in recruitment, mentorship, pay equity, and support for women’s employee resource groups.

Founded by financial coach and investment advisor Kasey Ring, Upward Personal Finance was selected for its work to build an inclusive environment for women in Utah. “We are incredibly honored to be named among Utah’s 100 Companies Championing Women,” Ring said. “Our mission has always been to empower women to take control of their money and their future. This recognition is not just about our company — it’s about building a stronger, more inclusive Utah where women thrive in business, leadership, and life.”

Ring, who launched her business in 2015 and rebranded in 2019 to focus on women, said the recognition underscores both progress and the challenges that remain.
“It means a lot to me,” she said. “I’m proud that Utah was one of the first states in the nation to require financial literacy as a prerequisite for high school graduation. However, we still rank dead last for women’s equality in the U.S. I want women to be confident and in control of their financial lives, and I work every day toward this cause. Utah has a long way to go, but I’m so proud to be part of the solution.”

As part of the state’s Inspire In Utah campaign, the Park City–based firm will be featured alongside other companies recognized for supporting women’s advancement in the workplace and community. Dr. Susan Madsen, director of the Utah Women & Leadership Project, praised the awardees as models for other businesses. She said their leadership in innovative and supportive policies “pioneers the way for other organizations to follow.”
